Since 1991, Hawaii's economy has suffered from rising rates of unemployment . But by 1994 the recession had raised Hawaii's unemployment rate to the national average (6.1%) for the first time in 15 years. Turkan’s imprisonment that led to her fall was att ributed to a high level of corruption in the empire that forced servants to arrest her. Women’s involvement in political leadership however continued with Raziyyah being accorded the crown. Raziyyah showed deviation from the expected norms for women and disregarded the usage of veil besides wearing men’s clothes. She was later assassinated for a biased court judgment in which she favored a man. Political involvement of women was again later realized in the Muslim world in the sixteenth century. Though not established to thrones, a number of women are reported to have actively helped Babur in establishing a throne of Moghul territory in the year 1526. These women, including Babur’s mother helped him to fight his enemies and even provided him with financial support as he undertook his move to conquer India (Pletcher 121). The same sixteenth century witnessed the rise of Nur Jahan to political heights. Nur is reported to have been her husband’s political adv isor throughout his reign. A later political involvement of women was significantly noted in the nineteenth century when Rani Lakshmi was involved in a political battle to establish her son onto her husband’s throne following her husband’s death. Now, you may be having visions of huge quarterbacks, dressed up in their padding and helmets, parading down the field during the Super Bowl. But the other kind of football, the football the rest of the world knows, has no padding or helmets. This other football is known in America as soccer. In more than 175 countries across the globe, football, or soccer, rates as the number 1 national sport. Football dates back as far as thousands of years ago. There are records that show that ancient civilizations of Greece, Egypt, and China (among others) played an age-old form of football with a stuffed leather ball. Early games in Old England were like mob riots. There were no rules; it was anything goes! The games were so rowdy and violent that many English rulers tried to outlaw them. But it didn’t work.
